Anyone in a long distance relationship that can offer me advice?

I know long distance relationships rarely work out in the end. my bf recently moved and i'm crushed about it...i don't want to lose him. What are things that i can do to help make the realtionship stay strong if i don't get to see him anymore. I try to call him all the time, but i'm starting to feel like i'm suffocating him, and i don't want to become clinging because that's not me. For those of you in a LDR do you have any advice about how to make it work?? Thanks
