Boyfriend troubles..LDR?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years..we are newly college graduates and now live about 2 hrs apart. We are just starting to get jobs etc. Long story short, my bf is not one to speak up for ANYTHING. He is extremely passive and nonetheless, his passiveness is one of the flaws I cannot stand about him. After a month of not seeing him, he is supposed to be coming to visit me this weekend. I am unable to visit him this coming weekend otherwise I would be. He started a new job on Monday which requires that he MAY have to work on saturdays which consequently would ruin out plans. I asked him to find out if he is working on saturday this way I can plan around it. But for some reason he REFUSES to ask. He says he does not want to work saturdays at all and it was not in the agreement in which he made with the company but will not ask. Everytime i ask him he tells me that he doesn't care if I am angry with him etc. I told him he's supposed to be coming friday night that it would be nice of him to let me know before Fri AM this way its not a bomb dropped last minute. I am not sure what to do, but after a month of not seeing each other we kind of are dying to see each other. The rest of june/july will be hard, and i don't understand why he wont ask for his weekly work schedule!
