How do they make money ?

say a company build a building that sell condo , once they sold out their condos , can they make more money from it ? because after they sold out , they have to provided security for their customer , ain't that a loss ? oh and also do tenants vote on something like rennovations or something like that ? does the owner have any ownership left in the building once they sold each condo to INDIVIDUAL OWNER ?
